Computer problems & a lost DVD player

I'm learning to walk day by day, moment by moment with God, depending on His still, small, voice always.

A couple days ago I got a call from an older couple, asking for computer help and help starting their car. I figured it was God’s will that I go help them. It probably was, but I didn’t ask Him... I just worked it into my schedule.

I then tried to find our jumper cables. I looked and looked around our farm and couldn’t find any, but I didn’t ask God to help me find them... so I had to go to Wal-mart first. I didn’t ask God about going there.

While there, I bought a CD player, DVD player, and two sets of jumper cables. I should have asked God if he wanted me to buy them, and which ones to get.

Health Care Allegory

Welcome to the town of Allopath

There once was a town called Allopath. It had many people, streets
and cars, but due to budget limitations, there were no stop signs or
traffic lights anywhere in Allopath.

Not surprisingly, traffic accidents were common. Cars would crash
into each other at nearly every intersection. But business was booming
for the auto repair shops and local hospitals, which dominated the
economy of Allopath.

As the population of Allopath grew, traffic accidents increased to an
alarming level. Out of desperation, the city council hired Doctor West,
a doctor of the Motor Division (M.D.) to find a solution.

Mosquito prevention

Mosquito prevention

A week ago we were camping at Dashpoint State Park near Tacoma, WA. The mosquitos were out and feasting on the kids, so we came up with a creative solution.

Be the Best Wherever You Are!

Here's a neat poem we ran across recently:

If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill,
Be a scrub in the valley--but be
The best little scrub by the side of the rill;
Be a bush if you can't be a tree.

If you can't be a bush, be a bit of the grass,
Some highway happier make;
If you can't be a muskie, then just be a bass--
But the liveliest bass in the lake!

We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us here,
There's big work to do, and there's lesser to do,
And the task we must do is the near.

If you can't be a highway, then just be a trail,

Birthday supper for Lana

Birthday supper for Lana

The boys and I had a fun time making this cake for Lana.  It was a "garden cake" complete with mud (smoothies), dirt clods (cookies), gummy worms, potatoes (Reeses pieces), and an assortment of vegetables.

We put most of our energy into the cake, so the rest of supper was rather minimal.  We were all sick of cake when done.  :)

Lynae crawled up on the piano bench by herself and started playing.  She wants to copy her older brother...
